swirling flow simulation 2019-06 - Tornado maker (STEM toy)

Simulation of tornado maker experiment has been carried out in OpenFOAM.

This tornado maker experiment is again inspired by my 4-yr old son STEM toy. It is interesting to create tornado-like flow by spinning a circular disc at the bottom of container at different speeds. You can see how this toy looks like from the link below:

A 4-yr old kid can carry out this experiment without difficulty, however, it takes so much effort to repeat this experiment in CFD. The simulation was carried out at the following conditions:

- Size of the model: Actual size by measurement
- Modeling of rotating disc: AMI
